Got some questions about the plugin
1) Once that you define weld joint size, it cannot be changed-promise that this will be changed through code. We will add this feature
2) What to do when weld is not accessible through whole length-for example some other component hides it? This is solved through option make weld by specific length or make intermittent weld.
3) Do I need to always use the welding lines detection to model welds? The buttons edge splitting and find weldable edges are optional. You can always create welds by clicking directly on the edges of the model. If you use the buttons for finding weldable edges the items created can be deleted after using them.
4) Why weld normals are important?
Those are only required if you want to simulate the torch and if you want to compute the robot program for example RoboDK.
5) are multipass welding supported? Not yet, we’re working on that.
6) Can we define butt welds? - yes, principle is the same as for fillet welds.
7) Can I add custom operations to the cycle time like setting up the machine, cleaning nozzle, changing nozzle, grinding, etc? Currently not, we will add this feature
